SAUL BASS
Saul Bass was born in 1920 in New York. H began painting classes at the age of 15 and then went on to Brooklyn collage to study art. He was there exposed to modern art and this was a turning point in his life. Bass then worked for a number of advertising agencies in New York before moving to Hollywood were he designed posters for films which lead him to work for film directors designing the titles and credits for films. Bass sore this as an opportunity to enhance the film goers experience. He set the mood and the films underlying core in a metaphorical way so that the viewer’s mood would already be set before the film began. Throughout his career he also designed logo’s for famous companies such as United Airlines, AT&T, Kleenex, Warner, Quaker Oats and many more. Saul's designs were simple used few colours and still look timeless today.
